Emergency Services Program

The Emergency Services Program offers crisis intervention and case management to families or individuals who are experiencing certain one-time emergencies. These emergencies may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, fires, code enforcement and/or court ordered evictions. Assistance, which is not necessarily financial, may include temporary emergency shelter, transitional shelter, rental assistance and/or referrals. These services are coordinated with the Kankakee County Housing Continuum (community service providers who combine all available resources to help meet the needs of those clients who qualify). In addition, referrals are offered to KCCSI’s financial literacy program, food pantry, energy assistance program or services provided by one of our partner agencies to meet an individual’s basic human needs. Examples of services include: assistance through rental, shelter, mortgage, food vouchers, weather radios and many other services too numerous to state.
