promote family stability and self-sufficiency.


Our Mission:
The purpose of Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. shall be to generate and stimulate available local, private, state, and federal resources toward enabling low-income families and individuals to attain the skills, knowledge, motivations and opportunities necessary to become self-sufficient. Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. shall seek to be a catalyst and advocate for the interest of the poor in order to make the area served more responsive to the needs of low-income persons and families and to bring about greater institutional sensitivity to their condition.

Background:
Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. (KCCSI) has been meeting the needs of families and individuals in crisis since 1986 by giving them accommodations through shelter vouchers for the homeless in area motels, rental and mortgage assistance; utility (gas and light) assistance, energy conservation (weatherization), senior nutrition, in addition to transitional sheltering, affordable housing and crisis intervention.
