EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Doreen Hammes Computer Learning Center
The
Doreen
Hammes Computer Learning Center provides the community
with a state of the arts computer lab offering a variety
of self-tutorial computer training software modules for
beginner and intermediate computer users. In addition to
having access to a computer that they may not be able to
afford at home, participants are able to come to the lab
to acquire and/or improve their computer skills.
The Scholarship
Program is designed to provide financial assistance
to low-income and disadvantaged persons of high academic
attainment or potential, with preference given to applicants
of racial or ethnic minorities. The scholarship provides
formal education or occupational training at an accredited
Illinois institution to CSBG eligible clients, with particular
consideration given to fields of study in high technology
areas or other growth occupations.
