Senior Services

Silver Harvest Diners
Designed for people over the age of 60, this program provides nutritious noon meals at an affordable price. Silver Harvest caters to the need for companionship by offering dining hall service to those Seniors who are “out & about” during the day. In addition to meals, you will find entertaining, recreational and educational activities at the dining hall.

KCCSI operates four Silver Harvest Diners in Kankakee County

  1. 657 East Court Suite 101, Kankakee IL.
  2. Pembroke Senior Center, Hopkins Park, IL
  3. 114 South Wabash, Reddick, IL
  4. Limestone Township Hall, Kankakee, IL

We currently have approximately 300 seniors attending the four sites.

Silver Harvest Home Delivered Meals

Silver Harvest recognizes that not all Seniors are able to come to the dining hall. For those who may be frail, homebound or isolated due to illness you may have your meal delivered to your door. Our courteous staff will bring you a delicious and nutritious noon meal Monday through Friday.

Senior Citizen Activity Program (Senior C.A.P.)

Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. has great interest in maintaining and nurturing existing senior services programs. The Senior Citizens Activities Program allows seniors to partake in daily activities and socialization. It is our desire for seniors to have a safe, comfortable, and easily accessible location for them to meet regularly for activities and fellowship. This location serves as a second home for over 200 senior citizens who join each other daily to meet their need for socialization as well as health and welfare issues.

Senior C.A.P. serves as a very important outing for seniors who do not have other avenues of entertainment. This program offers seniors a place to enjoy themselves with the comfort of friends and the confidence that they are still independent and productive.

The seniors have much to do to keep them busy when attending this group. They are busy with bingo, card games, field trips, line dancing, pool and lots of fellowship. In addition, they are offered health screenings, information on safe driving and many other community related topics. This senior program serves as a positive environment for our elderly community to remain productive members in a society that they have supported all of their lives.
