The Senior Community Service Employment Program offers employment opportunities to seniors who are 55 years of age and older and meet the eligibility guidelines.  The program gives preference to seniors who are income eligible, disabled, a veteran or the spouse of a veteran as well as additional criteria that would make them a perfect fit for the program.  The goal of the employment program is to place senior citizens in unsubsidized employment positions within the community upon completion of their training period.   These placements occur in community service organizations and governmental entities.  Each senior is evaluated for their skills, interest and potential and then appropriately assigned to an organization that best meets their requirements.  Through the training period, the individuals can enhance their abilities and skill level which increases the probability for the host agency to employ them unsubsidized.   KCCSI maintains contact with each host agency to insure satisfaction for both the host agency and the senior aide.  Participants are able to work up to 20 hours per week and are required to attend monthly employment preparation workshops.  This program offers a wide range of opportunities to our senior population that allows them to remain connected to their community and to maintain a sense of independence.
